Praun
Merlot Siebeneich
Riserva
Südtirol • Alto Adige DOC
The sun-blessed site in Settequerce (Siebeneich) near Bolzano offers ideal conditions for this Merlot Riserva. The warm fertile soils developed on alluvial deposits of the Adige produce a fruity, concentrated wine with good aging potential.
The name ‘PRAUN’ derives from the local dialect word for ‘brown’ and refers to the phenolically ripe, dark brown grape seeds and the woody, reddish-brown stalk structure of the grapes. These characteristics are signs of optimum physiological ripeness and indicate the outstanding quality of the grape material used.
